Rebekah, a type of the Bride of Christ

(Gen 24:1 KJV) And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
Abraham is a type of God the Father. His great age shows the eternality of God.
(Gen 24:2 KJV) And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
Eldest servant is a type of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has charge over all of the Father’s goods.
(Gen 24:3 KJV) And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
The wife or bride is not to come from the unsaved, but from among God’s people, the Church.
(Gen 24:4 KJV) But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.
The Hebrew word for country means the whole world, and not just one part of the world. This is confirmation that Rebekah is a type of the bride of Christ who comes from the Church, and not Israel. The word for kindred means offspring, or the children of God. The bride for Isaac, a type of Jesus, was to come from God’s children, the Church, and the Church comes from the whole world.
(Gen 24:5 KJV) And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
It is the bride’s choice as to whether she will follow the servant, a type of the Holy Spirit. The bride is willing to go to a new land (i.e., heaven) and leave the world behind.
(Gen 24:6 KJV) And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.
Jesus will not come back to the world to get His bride. The bride will go to Him at His home in heaven. This is confirmed in that Rebekah follows the servant or Holy Spirit through the wilderness of her own free will to go to the home of the Bridegroom.
(Gen 24:7 KJV) The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
The angel that is sent first is Jesus coming to the earth as Prophet. After this the servant or Holy Spirit will take a bride for the Son.
(Gen 24:8 KJV) And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.
This reiterates that the bride chooses of her own free will to follow the Holy Spirit and be the bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:9 KJV) And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.
This confirms the importance of the mission of the Holy Spirit to find a bride for the Son.
(Gen 24:10 KJV) And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
The Holy Spirit is in charge of all of the Master’s goods in His mission to find a bride for the Son. Ten is the number of ordinal completion, and represents all of what is being discussed.
(Gen 24:11 KJV) And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
The well is a type of the Bible, the Word of God. The root word for well is as follows:

(Gen 24:12 KJV) And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.
The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to perform the will of the Heavenly Father. The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit in the current Age of Grace is to find a Bride for Jesus Christ.
(Gen 24:13 KJV) Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
The Holy Spirit will find the bride from among those who frequent the well or those who spend time in the Word of God and draw much water from the well. Water is a symbol or type for cleansing. It is also a type for the Holy Spirit. The bride will be taken from among those who are cleansed regularly, and who are filled with the Holy Spirit. The word for daughters also means the “apple or pupil of the eye.” These are the ones who are closest to the heart of God.
(Gen 24:14 KJV) And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.
The bride will not only be cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit herself, but she will also open the Word of God to others who will also be cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:15 KJV) And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Milcah means queen; and Nahor means snorer or sleeper. Thus, Rebekah, the fettered one, comes from The destroyed of God, the Church, who is born of the queen, the Holy Spirit, who births the Church out of those who are spiritually dead or asleep. Every member of the Church at some point in time must “perish”. This is in reference to the soul. Either we lose our life (i.e., perish now in the Church Age) and allow the life of Christ to live through us, or we will “perish” at the Judgment Seat of Christ. If we do it now, we will have tremendous rewards in our inheritance. If we wait for Christ to do it at the Judgment Seat of Christ, there will be loss of reward, tribulation, and much shame and weeping. This is how the Church can be seen as the destroyed of God.
(Gen 24:16 KJV) And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
The word for virgin is as follows:

She was a chaste virgin, which is a symbol or type for pure. She was undefiled by the world or the things of the world. She went to the Bible and filled her pitcher, a vessel that is a type of the body. In type she was filled with the Holy Spirit. The word for came up means to ascend, to depart,to be taken up. This is clearly a picture of the separation, a departure from the earth, because of studying and obeying the Bible and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:17 KJV) And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
The bride will be tested by the Holy Spirit to see if her filling or control by the Holy Spirit is genuine. Much of the so-called filling of the Holy Spirit today is false. The speaking in tongues, healing, laughing uncontrollably, and other so-called manifestations of the Spirit are false. The manifestations of the Spirit filled life are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Spirit filled person does not yield to the temptations of the world. The Spirit filled person does not lust after possessions. He is not led astray by the trinkets of this world. Satan will do everything he can to take your focus off of Jesus and put them on the pleasures and things of this world. Anything that a person focuses on ahead of Jesus is an idol.
(Gen 24:18 KJV) And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
The bride is willing to be tested to see if her filling of the Spirit is legitimate. One television minister preaches and weeps and shows great emotion. He also speaks in tongues on television. Yet, he has been caught with prostitutes on at least two occasions. Each time he is caught he exhibits a great outpouring of repentance. Is this filling of the Spirit legitimate? Is this true repentance? Methinks he was truly sorry that he was caught. Satan is doing his best to mimic the gifts of the Spirit. The word for hand means the open hand and it means the power, means and direction of a person. The means of the power of the bride is from the Holy Spirit, and her direction is toward being obedient to the Holy Spirit. The source of her power and the direction of her power will test out as pure gold.
(Gen 24:19 KJV) And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
The bride also draws water and provides for the filling of the servants of God. These are our fellow Christians. The bride will continue to provide water as long as the camels will drink. Unfortunately, most Christians today have a distaste for the water of the Word of God, and they drink very little. The bride is willing and able to provide the water from the well, but she cannot make the camels drink.
(Gen 24:20 KJV) And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
The bride is willing to draw water for all of the camels. She is not constrained to one denomination or to one class of camels. She will provide water to any of the camels that are willing to drink.
(Gen 24:21 KJV) And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
The Holy Spirit observes those who go to the well and provide water for the brethren, but he must wait to see if the ones who are doing this continue in the faith. Many Christians do this for a period of time, but then they fall away and become enamored with the things of this world, and they cease to read and study their Bibles. The Holy Spirit observes to see who will continue in the faith. The requirement is that the Bride must continue in good works until the end, which is death or rapture.
(Gen 24:22 KJV) And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
As the bride finishes her work she becomes a bondslave to God. The earring is typical of the bondslave who has his ear pierced to show his ownership by the master. The hands are a type or symbol of our works. The golden bracelets depict the work of the bride as being pure and undefiled. The works of the bride are gold, silver, precious stones, and not wood, hay, and stubble. The word for half a shekel for the golden earring means gold that is separated. This is a clear picture of the bride being rewarded at the time of the separation, and becoming the bondslave, or bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:23 KJV) And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?
After the separation, the Father’s house is still the Church, and the question is posed will there be room for the Holy Spirit to dwell or lodge or settle down and be comfortable.
(Gen 24:24 KJV) And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Milcah means queen; and Nahor means snorer or sleeper. Thus, Rebekah, the fettered one, comes from The destroyed of God, the Church, who is born of the queen, the Holy Spirit, who births the Church out of those who are spiritually dead or asleep.
(Gen 24:25 KJV) She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.
Straw is threshed grain, and provender is an inferior food for livestock. Thus, after the separation when the good grain has been taken to heaven, there will be left the straw that has been threshed, and an inferior form of food left for the Church. The room to dwell in pictures a place in the Church for the Holy Spirit to dwell in after the separation.
(Gen 24:26 KJV) And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
The word for bowed down means to shrivel up and worshipped means to comply in obedience. This is a picture of the Holy Spirit withdrawing his restraining influence from the world in obedience to the Father.
(Gen 24:27 KJV) And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
The Holy Spirit’s mission has been blessed with success, having been guided to the house, the Church, of the Master’s (i.e., Jesus’) brethren, the Jews.
(Gen 24:28 KJV) And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.
The bride hastens to tell those of the household of faith, the Church, about the bride, the rewards, the separation, and the work of the Holy Spirit in taking out of the Church a bride for Jesus Christ.
(Gen 24:29 KJV) And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.
Laban means to be made white. After the separation, the bride’s brethren, the remainder of the Church will be cleansed of their sins, and they will seek out the Holy Spirit at the well, which is the Bible or the Word of God.
(Gen 24:30 KJV) And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
When Laban, the remainder of the Church, sees the reward that Rebekah received in being the bondslave or bride of Christ, they will unify (i.e., stand by) with the other members of the Church through the study of the Bible. The gold earring represents Rebecca as a bondslave to Christ. The gold bracelet represents rewards for her works. The hands are symbolic of work. The camels represent the burden bearers or workers in the Church. The camel drinks a lot of water until he is filled. Thus, camels represent Christian workers who are filled with the Spirit The well is a type of the Bible, and the water is a type of the Holy Spirit and cleansing.
(Gen 24:31 KJV) And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without (2351)? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
The remainder of the Church will invite the Lord into their lives via the Holy Spirit. The household of faith, the Church is now prepared, and there is room for all of the servants of God. The Laodicean Church will be left behind at the separation. Jesus cautioned the Laodiceans that he was knocking at the door for them to invite Him in for fellowship. During the tribulation, many in the Church will invite Jesus into their lives. This is not Spirit salvation, but soul salvation. The root word for prepared means to turn, so it represents repentance or that which is necessary for Jesus to come into a person’s life and fellowship with that person.

(Gen 24:32 KJV) And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
The word for came into means to abide. This means that the Holy Spirit is now able to come into these lives and settle down and be comfortable. He is able to feel at home. The word for ungird means to loosen, set free, carve or grave (i.e., engrave). This means the steward (Laban) of the house began to help shape or form the lives of these believers who were now working for the Lord and filled with the Spirit. He also began to provide food amidst tribulation (i.e., straw and provender) for the household of faith. The straw is typical of tribulation (i.e., tribulation), and the provender is typical of food that is nourishing. The heads of the Church are not currently feeding the flock, but they will begin to do this doing the tribulation after the bride has been rewarded. This feeding of the flock will take place among the tribulation. The members of the Church will also begin to have their feet washed, which is typical of repentance and the forgiveness of sins.
(Gen 24:33 KJV) And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
The meal or food to eat is a type of the wedding feast, but the wedding feast cannot commence until the Holy Spirit has completed his work.
(Gen 24:34 KJV) And he said, I am Abraham's servant.
The Holy Spirit begins to teach the remainder of the Church the deeper truths about the seeking out a bride for Jesus Christ, and how it was to be taken out from among the people of God. Most of the Church do not understand this as yet, but they will come to understand it during the tribulation period. Now the text will go back and provide details of the Holy Spirit’s quest for a bride for Jesus Christ. This follows the Semitic style of apocalyptic writing. First, an overview is given, and then details are provided.
(Gen 24:35 KJV) And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
The Holy Spirit begins to teach about God the Father, and His wealth. In truth everything in the universe belongs to God. Based on the root words of the above list, it appears that the flocks represent the heavenly recipients of the kingdom, the Church, and the herds represent the earthly people of the kingdom, saved Jews and Gentiles. Silver represents the blood atonement of Jesus or his human nature, and the gold represents His deity, or His divine nature. The menservants represent those in the highest level of the kingdom of the heavens (i.e., the four living creatures), while the maidservants represent those in the second level of the kingdom of the heavens (i.e., the 24 elders). The camels represent the servants during the tribulation period who are workers (i.e., burden bearers) who are filled with the Holy Spirit (i.e., hold a lot of water to the point of being filled). The word for asses means to be red, but the root word means to be covered with pitch or bitumen. Red typifies the blood of Christ, and the pitch is a type for the atonement for our sins. Thus, the asses would represent those who were saved or atoned for by the blood of Christ, but no works followed.
(Gen 24:36 KJV) And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.
Sarah would be a type of Israel, God’s wife. It was from Israel that Jesus Christ was born. His parents were both Jews in the line of King David of Israel. Israel was a very old 2000 years when Jesus Christ was born. America is a little over 200 years old. Israel will be 4000 years old when Jesus returns in power and glory. Jesus Christ has received all that belongs to the Father. His mission 2000 years ago was successful, and the Father has bestowed all of His goods upon the Son. The book of Revelation describes the glorification of Jesus Christ, and the fact that all judgment has been given unto Him.
(Gen 24:37 KJV) And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
In describing detail, the Holy Spirit was not to take a bride out of the unsaved, but from among the saved, or the Church. The Holy Spirit came to earth at Pentecost as the Comforter, and He has dwelled in the Church in the midst of Satan’s kingdom ever since that time.
(Gen 24:38 KJV) But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.
The house is the household of faith during the current time, which is the Church. Israel has been set aside, and the Church has been offered the kingdom of the heavens. The word for kindred means family. The family of God during the current age is the Church, which consists of His sons and daughters. The word take also means to win or secure.
(Gen 24:39 KJV) And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.
This verse reiterates that it is up to the person whether he or she will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in anticipation of becoming the bride of Christ. This is in direct contrast to the born again experience, which depends upon the will of the Holy Spirit. A person is not spiritually regenerated by his own will, but he does choose whether he is willing to follow the Holy Spirit, which is necessary for becoming the bride of Christ. Spirit salvation is described in the following verse:
(John 1:13 KJV) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(Gen 24:40 KJV) And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel (4397) with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
The Angel here typifies Jesus Christ indwelling us via the Holy Spirit. Christ can only indwell us and live His live in us if we are willing. Jesus indwelling us will prosper the taking out of a bride. This is confirmed by the following verses:
(Col 1:27 KJV) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
(Col 1:28 KJV) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(Col 1:29 KJV) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
The reason Christ living His life in a person can prosper the work of the Holy Spirit is that person will be an effective witness to the truths of the Word of God. A person who has Christ living in him will tell others about being the bride of Christ, and others will start living their lives with Christ in them. This will prosper and add to the number who will be part of the bride of Christ. All Christians are in Christ, but not all Christians have Christ in them. Christ is only able to live His life in us when we allow ourselves to be filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells all Christians, but the life of Christ is not lived out in all Christians. The Christian must put off the old man and put on the new man for this to happen.

This verse again reiterates that the burden for being a part of the bride is placed upon the individual, and not upon the Holy Spirit. This verse states simply “when you enter in to my family, and they do not yield to you, you will be free from your oath to seek out a bride for my son.”
(Gen 24:42 KJV) And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:
In seeking a bride, the Holy Spirit comes to those who frequent the well (i.e., the Bible). Those who frequent the well will prosper the way of the Holy Spirit by bringing others to draw from the well. Those in the Church who study the Bible will teach others how to study the Bible, and some of these will become part of the bride. Thus, the “way” or assignment of the Holy Spirit will be prospered.
(Gen 24:43 KJV) Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
“Stand” means to establish, so the Holy Spirit establishes Himself by the Word of God to see who will come to draw. When a virgin (i.e., a saved and undefiled person) comes to the Word, the Holy Spirit challenges them to allow Him to deepen their pitcher to be able to hold more water. Another meaning of “I say” is to challenge. The deeper meaning of “Give me” is allow me to influence, and the word pitcher comes from a word that means to deepen. Thus, figuratively, we have the Holy Spirit challenging the virgin to allow Him to influence her life so that her pitcher or vessel (i.e., your body) can become deeper so that it will hold more water, or be influenced more and more by the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:44 KJV) And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed (3198) out for my master's son.
The virgin agrees to the influence, and offers the same for the camels (i.e., other Christians who work for the Lord) who are willing to drink or be influenced by the Holy Spirit. The virgin who is willing to be influenced by the Holy Spirit, and who is willing to draw water for other Christians who are willing to be influenced by the Holy Spirit is the one who has been “appointed” as the bride of Christ. The word for “appointed” is as follows:

Thus, the one who is to be the bride is the one who has decided she wants to be the bride, been justified by works, convicted of sin, chastened by the Lord, convinced of the truth of the Word, and been corrected, rebuked, and reproved by the Father. This verse says a lot about who will be the bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:45 KJV) And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth (3318) with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
The Holy Spirit speaks in a still small voice, and we hear Him with our hearts. The pitcher is a type of our bodies, a vessel to be filled by the Holy Spirit. The shoulder is a type of works that are ordained for us the do. It is work to go to the well and draw water. It is work to study the Bible and find out what it has to say about how we should live. The bride hears the voice of the Holy Spirit, and immediately sets out to do the work that the Holy Spirit has for her to do. The deeper meaning of came forth is to go forth with purpose or for a result. That purpose pertains to the Word of God (i.e., the well) and the drawing of water for others to be filled with the Spirit.
(Gen 24:46 KJV) And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.
The Hebrew word for made haste is the be carried headlong, swiftly, suddenly, soon, etc. This appears to be the time of the separation. This verse repeats what took place earlier, but it is added that she let down her pitcher from her shoulder. Since the pitcher is a type of our bodies or the vessel that is to be filled with the Spirit, and the shoulder is a type of our works or labors, the letting down of the pitcher from the shoulder is a picture of our works ceasing. This will take place at the time of the separation for the bride, and her works will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ. As we have stated on other occasions, since the bride has remained close to the Lord and walked with Him cleansed daily by confession of sins, there will be no adverse judgment for the bride at the time of the separation. This is confirmed by the following verses:
(1 Cor 11:31 KJV) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
(1 Cor 11:32 KJV) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
(Gen 24:47 KJV) And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Nahor means snorer or sleeper; and Milcah means queen or feminine royalty. As stated earlier, the bride comes out of the Church, which is destroyed of God. The Church comes from the one who snores or is a sleeper. In typology, a sleeper is one who is dead. A dead person is typical of one who is spiritually dead. The queen birthed the Church from the sleeper or those who are spiritually dead. In typology, the Holy Spirit is often seen with the feminine aspect in the Godhead. We have God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who actually gives birth to the Church. Everyone in the Church will eventually lose their soul or life. Thus, their lives will be lost or destroyed of God. In summary, we have the bride or the fettered one, who comes out of the Church or the destroyed of God, who was birthed by the Holy Spirit from those who were spiritually dead. The bride receives the gold earring, which pictures the bride as becoming a bond slave to the Lord. She also receives the bracelets of gold, which pictures her works that qualify as gold, silver, and precious stones.
(Gen 24:48 KJV) And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.
The bowing down and worshipping is a picture of the Holy Spirit removing His restraining influence upon the world. This will take place at the time of the separation, when Antichrist will be given unchecked authority upon the earth. The Hebrew word for bowed down means to shrivel up. The master in typology is Jesus Christ, and the brother of Jesus Christ is the Jews. The Church came about through the Jews. The Jews were the first members of the Church.
(Gen 24:49 KJV) And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
The Holy Spirit is now dealing with Laban, the remainder of the Church who will be left after the bride is taken, and the destroyed of God, the Jews. “And now” means henceforth, or during the time of the tribulation period. The Hebrew words for “kindly and truly” mean with piety towards God, and out of trustworthiness. The remainder of the Church and the Jews are exhorted and questioned about their faithfulness and obedience to the Holy Spirit. If they are not going to be faithful, the Holy Spirit will turn away from them to either the right hand or the left. This seems to picture that the Holy Spirit will abide in them, or settle down and get comfortable if they are going to be faithful. If not, He will turn his attention elsewhere. At the time of the separation, numerous Christians, and Jews will start serving the Lord faithfully. They will be filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit. A minority of Christians will still not become faithful, even with the separation having taken place. Even though indwelled by the Holy Spirit, their lives will not reflect the influence of the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:50 KJV) Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.
The Hebrew word for “answered” means that the remainder of the Church (i.e., as a whole) and the Jews heeded what the Holy Spirit said. The matter of “taking out” (i.e., the separation) comes from the Lord, and they are unable to attain unto it because of both bad and good (i.e., the lack thereof). The Hebrew words for “we cannot” means the inability to overcome or attain to something. The Hebrew word for speak—in a destructive sense—means to subdue.
(Gen 24:51 KJV) Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the LORD hath spoken.
They state that Rebekah is accepted and she is to be taken away to be the bride of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as was appointed by the Lord. There appears to be an acknowledgment by Laban and Bethuel that they are not qualified to leave the earth now. This appears to be a time of repentance and turning towards serving the Lord at this time. The Hebrew word for before means to please or favour, and the Hebrew word for take means to receive or seize away.
(Gen 24:52 KJV) And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.
The worship is a picture of shriveling up or the Holy Spirit withdrawing his influence upon the earth. The word bowing is understood in the context.
(Gen 24:53 KJV) And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
It is important to note that it is only Rachael that receives the jewels of silver and gold and the special raiment. The bride’s brother, the Church, and her mother, the 144,000 Firstfruits of Israel, are given precious things, but not silver and gold. The Hebrew word for precious thing means fruit. Thus, they are now bearing and exhibiting the fruit of the spirit. The Church left on the earth will begin to bear fruit during the tribulation period, and so will the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits.
(Gen 24:54 KJV) And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.
The eating and drinking is a picture of the fellowship with the Lord that will occur after the separation. It is important to note that Rebekah is specifically excluded from this eating and drinking and tarrying that night, since she will not remain on the earth during the tribulation period, which is frequently pictured as being the time of the night. The Hebrew word for men means certain ones or worthy ones. The eating and drinking of fellowship means the partaking of wine and bread. The wine is a picture of cleansing from defilement, and the bread is the Word of God. Jesus exhorted the Laodicean Church to open the door to Him and He would come in and “sup” with them. The main body of the Church will do this during the tribulation period. The Hebrew word for rose up means to rise up in resurrection, succeed, or be established. The Church will literally rise up or be raptured early in the morning just before the darkest part of the night. The 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits will be established because of their success in being faithful to the Lord at the same time. The remainder of the Jewish nation who survive the tribulation and the Gentiles who become faithful will also succeed and be established in the earthly aspect of the kingdom at the morning time when the tribulation is over. Jesus is the morning star to the Church left on the earth, and He is the Sun of Righteousness to the Jews and Gentiles who survive the tribulation in faithfulness.
(Gen 24:55 KJV) And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
The Church and the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits ask that the bride abide on the earth for a complete period of time. The complete period of time is the end of the age of Grace in the middle of the tribulation period when the remainder of the Church is raptured, and the Firstfruits are sealed. Again, the brother is the remainder of the Church, and the mother is the Jewish Firstfruits. The Hebrew word for after means the hinder end +persecute. Thus, it means after persecution.
(Gen 24:56 KJV) And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me (7971) away that I may go to my master.
The Holy Spirit asks not to be hindered or delayed. His mission to obtain a bride for the Son of the Master has been successful, and He is ready to go. He is to take the bride and depart before the complete time of the Age of Grace has been completed.

(Gen 24:57 KJV) And they said, We will call the damsel, and inquire at her mouth.
They question the Holy Spirit as to whether the bride is willing to go at that particular timer or does she desire to stay behind. This is a picture of the Church questioning the motives of the bride. The main body of the Church is not ready to be taken in the separation and is not desirous for the selective rapture or any rapture to take place. They are caught up in the things of the world, and they are not looking or watching for the return of the Lord. They apparently see the bride as having this same attitude.
(Gen 24:58 KJV) And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
When they inquired of Rebekah, she was ready to be taken away to be with the bridegroom.
(Gen 24:59 KJV) And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.
The church releases the bride reluctantly to go away with the Holy Spirit to be with the Bridegroom. The nurse also goes with her. Interestingly, a nurse is one who gives or provides milk. There will be two groups who make the separation. One group is those who provide meat in due season, and the other group is those who provide the sincere milk of the word. This group will consist of those whose hearts are right, and they have sincerely learned the basic teachings of the Bible, and they have provided this teaching to others. They have been faithful in their walk with the Lord, even though they have not understood the deeper teachings of the Word of God. The Hebrew word for “his men” means specifically a male and it means one that is worthy. Thus, this could be translated prophetically as certain worthy males. This is a picture of the huios (i.e., sons) instead of the teknon (i.e., children) of God. From other Scriptures, we have two groups that make the separation. The Bride is represented by the Four Living Creatures in Revelation. The nurse and certain worthy males are represented by the 24 elders in the book of Revelation. It would be in error to say only those who provide milk or teach will make the separation. There will be some who are faithful in doing what they were called to do that will make the separation, even though they were not students of the Bible.
(Gen 24:60 KJV) And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
The Hebrew word for “blessed” also means to kneel. This is a picture of the time when the remainder of the Church will worship the Lord at the feet of the bride. This is seen in Revelation 3:9. The word “mother” is not in the original Hebrew. The literal meaning of “thousands of millions” means the first out of a great number. The word for thousands is aleph or the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Figuratively, it came to means thousands. The Hebrew word for millions means a very great number. The bride is the firstfruits of a very great number that will be in the kingdom, including the Jews and Gentiles who will enter the earthly aspect of the kingdom. The Hebrew word for “and let…possess” means to receive the inheritance in lieu of someone else. This clearly pictures the bride’s inheritance in the heavenly aspect of the kingdom in lieu of Israel receiving it. “Thy seed” means the fruit of the bride. “The gate” is the place of government or rulership. The ones who hate them are the current rulers of the earth, or the powers and principalities of the air. They are the emissaries of Satan who rule the earth from the atmosphere. Thus, Rebekah is the brethren of the remainder of the Church left on the earth, and the brethren of the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits, and she will receive the rulership of the heavenly aspect of the kingdom that was originally intended for Israel. Israel forfeited her inheritance when she rejected the offer of Jesus Christ to receive the kingdom. The message of the kingdom was to repent and be baptized, and Israel as a nation rejected this commandment, and consequently, the offer of the kingdom. Satan and his emissaries have been ruling the earth for 6000 years, and they hate the prospect of the bride taking over their position.
(Gen 24:61 KJV) And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.
The Hebrew word for arose means to endure, to be proven, to be valid, to be established. Thus, Rebekah is tested or judged at this time and found to be valid. Interestingly, there is another group, “her damsels” that are tested and found to be true and faithful at this same time. This is in perfect harmony with Revelation where there are two groups in heaven around the throne of Jesus at the time of the separation. These two groups are the four living creatures and the 24 elders. The bride is a type of the four living creatures, and the damsels are a type of the 24 elders. The Hebrew word for rode also means to cause to plow. The word upon means on account of. In other words, the story of Rebekah watering the camels has resulted in the rest of the Church to start plowing. We know that plowing is a picture of our working for the Lord. Jesus Himself used it as a picture of our working for entrance into the kingdom. The Hebrew words for “and followed” mean to walk persecuted, and the word for “man” means worthy. Thus, the spiritual walk of the bride and her damsels is through persecution, but they are found worthy. This is in accord with the Philadelphia Church in Revelation. They are weak and have little power in the Church as a whole, but they are found worthy. The word for “took” means take up the word for “went his way” means to vanish.. This is a description of the separation that Jesus gave at the time of the separation. It is in the Olivet Discourse, and Jesus said the those that were watching would suddenly vanish even as they stood next to other believers.
(Gen 24:62 KJV) And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.
This verse means that Isaac, a type of Jesus, came to marry in a parched and dry country by the way of the well of the living one. Simply stated, the bride comes to Jesus by the way of the well of living water, even though Jesus indwells her in a parched and dry (i.e., spiritually lacking) country. The country is the earth, and it is spiritually dry and parched. There is a well that the bride went to and that well is the Bible.
(Gen 24:63 KJV) And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
This verse states that in the end Jesus spoke to the cultivated field, which is the world of believers, and he took away or carried off those he perceived as having spiritual faculties. This is a picture of the midnight cry where the whole Church awakens to the shout that Jesus is coming, but he only takes away those who are spiritually mature. It also states that the camels were brought near to him. It appears that the camels in this verse are those who were left behind, but they became filled with the Holy Spirit, and were brought near to Jesus in a spiritual sense. The Hebrew word for and went out means "in the end". The Hebrew word for meditate means to commune with or to speak. The word for in the field means cultivated field. The word for at the means to turn toward or away. Christ will turn towards some and away from others at the time of the separation. The word for eventide also means night. The word for he lifted up means to take away or to carry off. The word for his eyes means spiritual faculties. The word for and saw means observed, seen, perceived, or regarded. A prophetic paraphrase of this verse would be, At the end of the day Jesus shouted to the Church and separated the faithful from the unfaithful, and carried the faithful away, and the remainder of the Church drew near to Him.
(Gen 24:64 KJV) And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.
This verse states that Rebekah’s mental and spiritual faculties were exalted or elevated and she was able to perceive or have a vision of Jesus. Consequently, she went away from, or was separated from the camel (i.e., the remainder of the Church on the earth), and she was exalted to a position above them. The eyes are frequently used for a person who has spiritual insight.
(Gen 24:65 KJV) For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a veil, and covered herself.
This verse states, For she said in her heart to the Holy Spirit, ‘Whose husband is this who spiritually walks among the Church. And the Holy Spirit said, it is your husband, the Lord. Therefore, she took her wedding garment and put it on.
(Gen 24:66 KJV) And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
This verse states, And the Holy Spirit related all the works that He had done.” In context with the preceding verse, the Holy Spirit is relaying all of the works that he had accomplished through the bride.
(Gen 24:67 KJV) And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.
This verse states, And Jesus brought his bride into the household that originally belonged to Israel. And she became his wife, and He was comforted even though Israel had failed to attain unto the heavenly aspect of the kingdom.
(Gen 24:1 KJV) And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
Abraham is a type of God the Father. His great age shows the eternality of God.
(Gen 24:2 KJV) And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:
Eldest servant is a type of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has charge over all of the Father’s goods.
(Gen 24:3 KJV) And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:
The wife or bride is not to come from the unsaved, but from among God’s people, the Church.
(Gen 24:4 KJV) But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.
The Hebrew word for country means the whole world, and not just one part of the world. This is confirmation that Rebekah is a type of the bride of Christ who comes from the Church, and not Israel. The word for kindred means offspring, or the children of God. The bride for Isaac, a type of Jesus, was to come from God’s children, the Church, and the Church comes from the whole world.
(Gen 24:5 KJV) And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
It is the bride’s choice as to whether she will follow the servant, a type of the Holy Spirit. The bride is willing to go to a new land (i.e., heaven) and leave the world behind.
(Gen 24:6 KJV) And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.
Jesus will not come back to the world to get His bride. The bride will go to Him at His home in heaven. This is confirmed in that Rebekah follows the servant or Holy Spirit through the wilderness of her own free will to go to the home of the Bridegroom.
(Gen 24:7 KJV) The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
The angel that is sent first is Jesus coming to the earth as Prophet. After this the servant or Holy Spirit will take a bride for the Son.
(Gen 24:8 KJV) And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.
This reiterates that the bride chooses of her own free will to follow the Holy Spirit and be the bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:9 KJV) And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.
This confirms the importance of the mission of the Holy Spirit to find a bride for the Son.
(Gen 24:10 KJV) And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
The Holy Spirit is in charge of all of the Master’s goods in His mission to find a bride for the Son. Ten is the number of ordinal completion, and represents all of what is being discussed.
(Gen 24:11 KJV) And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
The well is a type of the Bible, the Word of God. The root word for well is as follows:

(Gen 24:12 KJV) And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.
The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit is to perform the will of the Heavenly Father. The primary purpose of the Holy Spirit in the current Age of Grace is to find a Bride for Jesus Christ.
(Gen 24:13 KJV) Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:
The Holy Spirit will find the bride from among those who frequent the well or those who spend time in the Word of God and draw much water from the well. Water is a symbol or type for cleansing. It is also a type for the Holy Spirit. The bride will be taken from among those who are cleansed regularly, and who are filled with the Holy Spirit. The word for daughters also means the “apple or pupil of the eye.” These are the ones who are closest to the heart of God.
(Gen 24:14 KJV) And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.
The bride will not only be cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit herself, but she will also open the Word of God to others who will also be cleansed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:15 KJV) And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Milcah means queen; and Nahor means snorer or sleeper. Thus, Rebekah, the fettered one, comes from The destroyed of God, the Church, who is born of the queen, the Holy Spirit, who births the Church out of those who are spiritually dead or asleep. Every member of the Church at some point in time must “perish”. This is in reference to the soul. Either we lose our life (i.e., perish now in the Church Age) and allow the life of Christ to live through us, or we will “perish” at the Judgment Seat of Christ. If we do it now, we will have tremendous rewards in our inheritance. If we wait for Christ to do it at the Judgment Seat of Christ, there will be loss of reward, tribulation, and much shame and weeping. This is how the Church can be seen as the destroyed of God.
(Gen 24:16 KJV) And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
The word for virgin is as follows:

She was a chaste virgin, which is a symbol or type for pure. She was undefiled by the world or the things of the world. She went to the Bible and filled her pitcher, a vessel that is a type of the body. In type she was filled with the Holy Spirit. The word for came up means to ascend, to depart,to be taken up. This is clearly a picture of the separation, a departure from the earth, because of studying and obeying the Bible and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:17 KJV) And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
The bride will be tested by the Holy Spirit to see if her filling or control by the Holy Spirit is genuine. Much of the so-called filling of the Holy Spirit today is false. The speaking in tongues, healing, laughing uncontrollably, and other so-called manifestations of the Spirit are false. The manifestations of the Spirit filled life are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Spirit filled person does not yield to the temptations of the world. The Spirit filled person does not lust after possessions. He is not led astray by the trinkets of this world. Satan will do everything he can to take your focus off of Jesus and put them on the pleasures and things of this world. Anything that a person focuses on ahead of Jesus is an idol.
(Gen 24:18 KJV) And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
The bride is willing to be tested to see if her filling of the Spirit is legitimate. One television minister preaches and weeps and shows great emotion. He also speaks in tongues on television. Yet, he has been caught with prostitutes on at least two occasions. Each time he is caught he exhibits a great outpouring of repentance. Is this filling of the Spirit legitimate? Is this true repentance? Methinks he was truly sorry that he was caught. Satan is doing his best to mimic the gifts of the Spirit. The word for hand means the open hand and it means the power, means and direction of a person. The means of the power of the bride is from the Holy Spirit, and her direction is toward being obedient to the Holy Spirit. The source of her power and the direction of her power will test out as pure gold.
(Gen 24:19 KJV) And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
The bride also draws water and provides for the filling of the servants of God. These are our fellow Christians. The bride will continue to provide water as long as the camels will drink. Unfortunately, most Christians today have a distaste for the water of the Word of God, and they drink very little. The bride is willing and able to provide the water from the well, but she cannot make the camels drink.
(Gen 24:20 KJV) And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
The bride is willing to draw water for all of the camels. She is not constrained to one denomination or to one class of camels. She will provide water to any of the camels that are willing to drink.
(Gen 24:21 KJV) And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.
The Holy Spirit observes those who go to the well and provide water for the brethren, but he must wait to see if the ones who are doing this continue in the faith. Many Christians do this for a period of time, but then they fall away and become enamored with the things of this world, and they cease to read and study their Bibles. The Holy Spirit observes to see who will continue in the faith. The requirement is that the Bride must continue in good works until the end, which is death or rapture.
(Gen 24:22 KJV) And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;
As the bride finishes her work she becomes a bondslave to God. The earring is typical of the bondslave who has his ear pierced to show his ownership by the master. The hands are a type or symbol of our works. The golden bracelets depict the work of the bride as being pure and undefiled. The works of the bride are gold, silver, precious stones, and not wood, hay, and stubble. The word for half a shekel for the golden earring means gold that is separated. This is a clear picture of the bride being rewarded at the time of the separation, and becoming the bondslave, or bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:23 KJV) And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?
After the separation, the Father’s house is still the Church, and the question is posed will there be room for the Holy Spirit to dwell or lodge or settle down and be comfortable.
(Gen 24:24 KJV) And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Milcah means queen; and Nahor means snorer or sleeper. Thus, Rebekah, the fettered one, comes from The destroyed of God, the Church, who is born of the queen, the Holy Spirit, who births the Church out of those who are spiritually dead or asleep.
(Gen 24:25 KJV) She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.
Straw is threshed grain, and provender is an inferior food for livestock. Thus, after the separation when the good grain has been taken to heaven, there will be left the straw that has been threshed, and an inferior form of food left for the Church. The room to dwell in pictures a place in the Church for the Holy Spirit to dwell in after the separation.
(Gen 24:26 KJV) And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.
The word for bowed down means to shrivel up and worshipped means to comply in obedience. This is a picture of the Holy Spirit withdrawing his restraining influence from the world in obedience to the Father.
(Gen 24:27 KJV) And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
The Holy Spirit’s mission has been blessed with success, having been guided to the house, the Church, of the Master’s (i.e., Jesus’) brethren, the Jews.
(Gen 24:28 KJV) And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things.
The bride hastens to tell those of the household of faith, the Church, about the bride, the rewards, the separation, and the work of the Holy Spirit in taking out of the Church a bride for Jesus Christ.
(Gen 24:29 KJV) And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.
Laban means to be made white. After the separation, the bride’s brethren, the remainder of the Church will be cleansed of their sins, and they will seek out the Holy Spirit at the well, which is the Bible or the Word of God.
(Gen 24:30 KJV) And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
When Laban, the remainder of the Church, sees the reward that Rebekah received in being the bondslave or bride of Christ, they will unify (i.e., stand by) with the other members of the Church through the study of the Bible. The gold earring represents Rebecca as a bondslave to Christ. The gold bracelet represents rewards for her works. The hands are symbolic of work. The camels represent the burden bearers or workers in the Church. The camel drinks a lot of water until he is filled. Thus, camels represent Christian workers who are filled with the Spirit The well is a type of the Bible, and the water is a type of the Holy Spirit and cleansing.
(Gen 24:31 KJV) And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without (2351)? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
The remainder of the Church will invite the Lord into their lives via the Holy Spirit. The household of faith, the Church is now prepared, and there is room for all of the servants of God. The Laodicean Church will be left behind at the separation. Jesus cautioned the Laodiceans that he was knocking at the door for them to invite Him in for fellowship. During the tribulation, many in the Church will invite Jesus into their lives. This is not Spirit salvation, but soul salvation. The root word for prepared means to turn, so it represents repentance or that which is necessary for Jesus to come into a person’s life and fellowship with that person.

(Gen 24:32 KJV) And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
The word for came into means to abide. This means that the Holy Spirit is now able to come into these lives and settle down and be comfortable. He is able to feel at home. The word for ungird means to loosen, set free, carve or grave (i.e., engrave). This means the steward (Laban) of the house began to help shape or form the lives of these believers who were now working for the Lord and filled with the Spirit. He also began to provide food amidst tribulation (i.e., straw and provender) for the household of faith. The straw is typical of tribulation (i.e., tribulation), and the provender is typical of food that is nourishing. The heads of the Church are not currently feeding the flock, but they will begin to do this doing the tribulation after the bride has been rewarded. This feeding of the flock will take place among the tribulation. The members of the Church will also begin to have their feet washed, which is typical of repentance and the forgiveness of sins.
(Gen 24:33 KJV) And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
The meal or food to eat is a type of the wedding feast, but the wedding feast cannot commence until the Holy Spirit has completed his work.
(Gen 24:34 KJV) And he said, I am Abraham's servant.
The Holy Spirit begins to teach the remainder of the Church the deeper truths about the seeking out a bride for Jesus Christ, and how it was to be taken out from among the people of God. Most of the Church do not understand this as yet, but they will come to understand it during the tribulation period. Now the text will go back and provide details of the Holy Spirit’s quest for a bride for Jesus Christ. This follows the Semitic style of apocalyptic writing. First, an overview is given, and then details are provided.
(Gen 24:35 KJV) And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.
The Holy Spirit begins to teach about God the Father, and His wealth. In truth everything in the universe belongs to God. Based on the root words of the above list, it appears that the flocks represent the heavenly recipients of the kingdom, the Church, and the herds represent the earthly people of the kingdom, saved Jews and Gentiles. Silver represents the blood atonement of Jesus or his human nature, and the gold represents His deity, or His divine nature. The menservants represent those in the highest level of the kingdom of the heavens (i.e., the four living creatures), while the maidservants represent those in the second level of the kingdom of the heavens (i.e., the 24 elders). The camels represent the servants during the tribulation period who are workers (i.e., burden bearers) who are filled with the Holy Spirit (i.e., hold a lot of water to the point of being filled). The word for asses means to be red, but the root word means to be covered with pitch or bitumen. Red typifies the blood of Christ, and the pitch is a type for the atonement for our sins. Thus, the asses would represent those who were saved or atoned for by the blood of Christ, but no works followed.
(Gen 24:36 KJV) And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.
Sarah would be a type of Israel, God’s wife. It was from Israel that Jesus Christ was born. His parents were both Jews in the line of King David of Israel. Israel was a very old 2000 years when Jesus Christ was born. America is a little over 200 years old. Israel will be 4000 years old when Jesus returns in power and glory. Jesus Christ has received all that belongs to the Father. His mission 2000 years ago was successful, and the Father has bestowed all of His goods upon the Son. The book of Revelation describes the glorification of Jesus Christ, and the fact that all judgment has been given unto Him.
(Gen 24:37 KJV) And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
In describing detail, the Holy Spirit was not to take a bride out of the unsaved, but from among the saved, or the Church. The Holy Spirit came to earth at Pentecost as the Comforter, and He has dwelled in the Church in the midst of Satan’s kingdom ever since that time.
(Gen 24:38 KJV) But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.
The house is the household of faith during the current time, which is the Church. Israel has been set aside, and the Church has been offered the kingdom of the heavens. The word for kindred means family. The family of God during the current age is the Church, which consists of His sons and daughters. The word take also means to win or secure.
(Gen 24:39 KJV) And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.
This verse reiterates that it is up to the person whether he or she will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in anticipation of becoming the bride of Christ. This is in direct contrast to the born again experience, which depends upon the will of the Holy Spirit. A person is not spiritually regenerated by his own will, but he does choose whether he is willing to follow the Holy Spirit, which is necessary for becoming the bride of Christ. Spirit salvation is described in the following verse:
(John 1:13 KJV) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
(Gen 24:40 KJV) And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel (4397) with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:
The Angel here typifies Jesus Christ indwelling us via the Holy Spirit. Christ can only indwell us and live His live in us if we are willing. Jesus indwelling us will prosper the taking out of a bride. This is confirmed by the following verses:

(Col 1:28 KJV) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(Col 1:29 KJV) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
The reason Christ living His life in a person can prosper the work of the Holy Spirit is that person will be an effective witness to the truths of the Word of God. A person who has Christ living in him will tell others about being the bride of Christ, and others will start living their lives with Christ in them. This will prosper and add to the number who will be part of the bride of Christ. All Christians are in Christ, but not all Christians have Christ in them. Christ is only able to live His life in us when we allow ourselves to be filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells all Christians, but the life of Christ is not lived out in all Christians. The Christian must put off the old man and put on the new man for this to happen.

This verse again reiterates that the burden for being a part of the bride is placed upon the individual, and not upon the Holy Spirit. This verse states simply “when you enter in to my family, and they do not yield to you, you will be free from your oath to seek out a bride for my son.”
(Gen 24:42 KJV) And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:
In seeking a bride, the Holy Spirit comes to those who frequent the well (i.e., the Bible). Those who frequent the well will prosper the way of the Holy Spirit by bringing others to draw from the well. Those in the Church who study the Bible will teach others how to study the Bible, and some of these will become part of the bride. Thus, the “way” or assignment of the Holy Spirit will be prospered.
(Gen 24:43 KJV) Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
“Stand” means to establish, so the Holy Spirit establishes Himself by the Word of God to see who will come to draw. When a virgin (i.e., a saved and undefiled person) comes to the Word, the Holy Spirit challenges them to allow Him to deepen their pitcher to be able to hold more water. Another meaning of “I say” is to challenge. The deeper meaning of “Give me” is allow me to influence, and the word pitcher comes from a word that means to deepen. Thus, figuratively, we have the Holy Spirit challenging the virgin to allow Him to influence her life so that her pitcher or vessel (i.e., your body) can become deeper so that it will hold more water, or be influenced more and more by the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:44 KJV) And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed (3198) out for my master's son.
The virgin agrees to the influence, and offers the same for the camels (i.e., other Christians who work for the Lord) who are willing to drink or be influenced by the Holy Spirit. The virgin who is willing to be influenced by the Holy Spirit, and who is willing to draw water for other Christians who are willing to be influenced by the Holy Spirit is the one who has been “appointed” as the bride of Christ. The word for “appointed” is as follows:

Thus, the one who is to be the bride is the one who has decided she wants to be the bride, been justified by works, convicted of sin, chastened by the Lord, convinced of the truth of the Word, and been corrected, rebuked, and reproved by the Father. This verse says a lot about who will be the bride of Christ.
(Gen 24:45 KJV) And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth (3318) with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
The Holy Spirit speaks in a still small voice, and we hear Him with our hearts. The pitcher is a type of our bodies, a vessel to be filled by the Holy Spirit. The shoulder is a type of works that are ordained for us the do. It is work to go to the well and draw water. It is work to study the Bible and find out what it has to say about how we should live. The bride hears the voice of the Holy Spirit, and immediately sets out to do the work that the Holy Spirit has for her to do. The deeper meaning of came forth is to go forth with purpose or for a result. That purpose pertains to the Word of God (i.e., the well) and the drawing of water for others to be filled with the Spirit.
(Gen 24:46 KJV) And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.
The Hebrew word for made haste is the be carried headlong, swiftly, suddenly, soon, etc. This appears to be the time of the separation. This verse repeats what took place earlier, but it is added that she let down her pitcher from her shoulder. Since the pitcher is a type of our bodies or the vessel that is to be filled with the Spirit, and the shoulder is a type of our works or labors, the letting down of the pitcher from the shoulder is a picture of our works ceasing. This will take place at the time of the separation for the bride, and her works will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ. As we have stated on other occasions, since the bride has remained close to the Lord and walked with Him cleansed daily by confession of sins, there will be no adverse judgment for the bride at the time of the separation. This is confirmed by the following verses:
(1 Cor 11:31 KJV) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
(1 Cor 11:32 KJV) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
(Gen 24:47 KJV) And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.
Bethuel means destroyed of God; Nahor means snorer or sleeper; and Milcah means queen or feminine royalty. As stated earlier, the bride comes out of the Church, which is destroyed of God. The Church comes from the one who snores or is a sleeper. In typology, a sleeper is one who is dead. A dead person is typical of one who is spiritually dead. The queen birthed the Church from the sleeper or those who are spiritually dead. In typology, the Holy Spirit is often seen with the feminine aspect in the Godhead. We have God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who actually gives birth to the Church. Everyone in the Church will eventually lose their soul or life. Thus, their lives will be lost or destroyed of God. In summary, we have the bride or the fettered one, who comes out of the Church or the destroyed of God, who was birthed by the Holy Spirit from those who were spiritually dead. The bride receives the gold earring, which pictures the bride as becoming a bond slave to the Lord. She also receives the bracelets of gold, which pictures her works that qualify as gold, silver, and precious stones.
(Gen 24:48 KJV) And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.
The bowing down and worshipping is a picture of the Holy Spirit removing His restraining influence upon the world. This will take place at the time of the separation, when Antichrist will be given unchecked authority upon the earth. The Hebrew word for bowed down means to shrivel up. The master in typology is Jesus Christ, and the brother of Jesus Christ is the Jews. The Church came about through the Jews. The Jews were the first members of the Church.
(Gen 24:49 KJV) And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
The Holy Spirit is now dealing with Laban, the remainder of the Church who will be left after the bride is taken, and the destroyed of God, the Jews. “And now” means henceforth, or during the time of the tribulation period. The Hebrew words for “kindly and truly” mean with piety towards God, and out of trustworthiness. The remainder of the Church and the Jews are exhorted and questioned about their faithfulness and obedience to the Holy Spirit. If they are not going to be faithful, the Holy Spirit will turn away from them to either the right hand or the left. This seems to picture that the Holy Spirit will abide in them, or settle down and get comfortable if they are going to be faithful. If not, He will turn his attention elsewhere. At the time of the separation, numerous Christians, and Jews will start serving the Lord faithfully. They will be filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit. A minority of Christians will still not become faithful, even with the separation having taken place. Even though indwelled by the Holy Spirit, their lives will not reflect the influence of the Holy Spirit.
(Gen 24:50 KJV) Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.
The Hebrew word for “answered” means that the remainder of the Church (i.e., as a whole) and the Jews heeded what the Holy Spirit said. The matter of “taking out” (i.e., the separation) comes from the Lord, and they are unable to attain unto it because of both bad and good (i.e., the lack thereof). The Hebrew words for “we cannot” means the inability to overcome or attain to something. The Hebrew word for speak—in a destructive sense—means to subdue.
(Gen 24:51 KJV) Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the LORD hath spoken.
They state that Rebekah is accepted and she is to be taken away to be the bride of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as was appointed by the Lord. There appears to be an acknowledgment by Laban and Bethuel that they are not qualified to leave the earth now. This appears to be a time of repentance and turning towards serving the Lord at this time. The Hebrew word for before means to please or favour, and the Hebrew word for take means to receive or seize away.
(Gen 24:52 KJV) And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.
The worship is a picture of shriveling up or the Holy Spirit withdrawing his influence upon the earth. The word bowing is understood in the context.
(Gen 24:53 KJV) And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
It is important to note that it is only Rachael that receives the jewels of silver and gold and the special raiment. The bride’s brother, the Church, and her mother, the 144,000 Firstfruits of Israel, are given precious things, but not silver and gold. The Hebrew word for precious thing means fruit. Thus, they are now bearing and exhibiting the fruit of the spirit. The Church left on the earth will begin to bear fruit during the tribulation period, and so will the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits.
(Gen 24:54 KJV) And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.
The eating and drinking is a picture of the fellowship with the Lord that will occur after the separation. It is important to note that Rebekah is specifically excluded from this eating and drinking and tarrying that night, since she will not remain on the earth during the tribulation period, which is frequently pictured as being the time of the night. The Hebrew word for men means certain ones or worthy ones. The eating and drinking of fellowship means the partaking of wine and bread. The wine is a picture of cleansing from defilement, and the bread is the Word of God. Jesus exhorted the Laodicean Church to open the door to Him and He would come in and “sup” with them. The main body of the Church will do this during the tribulation period. The Hebrew word for rose up means to rise up in resurrection, succeed, or be established. The Church will literally rise up or be raptured early in the morning just before the darkest part of the night. The 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits will be established because of their success in being faithful to the Lord at the same time. The remainder of the Jewish nation who survive the tribulation and the Gentiles who become faithful will also succeed and be established in the earthly aspect of the kingdom at the morning time when the tribulation is over. Jesus is the morning star to the Church left on the earth, and He is the Sun of Righteousness to the Jews and Gentiles who survive the tribulation in faithfulness.
(Gen 24:55 KJV) And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
The Church and the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits ask that the bride abide on the earth for a complete period of time. The complete period of time is the end of the age of Grace in the middle of the tribulation period when the remainder of the Church is raptured, and the Firstfruits are sealed. Again, the brother is the remainder of the Church, and the mother is the Jewish Firstfruits. The Hebrew word for after means the hinder end +persecute. Thus, it means after persecution.
(Gen 24:56 KJV) And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me (7971) away that I may go to my master.
The Holy Spirit asks not to be hindered or delayed. His mission to obtain a bride for the Son of the Master has been successful, and He is ready to go. He is to take the bride and depart before the complete time of the Age of Grace has been completed.

They question the Holy Spirit as to whether the bride is willing to go at that particular timer or does she desire to stay behind. This is a picture of the Church questioning the motives of the bride. The main body of the Church is not ready to be taken in the separation and is not desirous for the selective rapture or any rapture to take place. They are caught up in the things of the world, and they are not looking or watching for the return of the Lord. They apparently see the bride as having this same attitude.
(Gen 24:58 KJV) And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
When they inquired of Rebekah, she was ready to be taken away to be with the bridegroom.
(Gen 24:59 KJV) And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men.
The church releases the bride reluctantly to go away with the Holy Spirit to be with the Bridegroom. The nurse also goes with her. Interestingly, a nurse is one who gives or provides milk. There will be two groups who make the separation. One group is those who provide meat in due season, and the other group is those who provide the sincere milk of the word. This group will consist of those whose hearts are right, and they have sincerely learned the basic teachings of the Bible, and they have provided this teaching to others. They have been faithful in their walk with the Lord, even though they have not understood the deeper teachings of the Word of God. The Hebrew word for “his men” means specifically a male and it means one that is worthy. Thus, this could be translated prophetically as certain worthy males. This is a picture of the huios (i.e., sons) instead of the teknon (i.e., children) of God. From other Scriptures, we have two groups that make the separation. The Bride is represented by the Four Living Creatures in Revelation. The nurse and certain worthy males are represented by the 24 elders in the book of Revelation. It would be in error to say only those who provide milk or teach will make the separation. There will be some who are faithful in doing what they were called to do that will make the separation, even though they were not students of the Bible.
(Gen 24:60 KJV) And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.
The Hebrew word for “blessed” also means to kneel. This is a picture of the time when the remainder of the Church will worship the Lord at the feet of the bride. This is seen in Revelation 3:9. The word “mother” is not in the original Hebrew. The literal meaning of “thousands of millions” means the first out of a great number. The word for thousands is aleph or the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Figuratively, it came to means thousands. The Hebrew word for millions means a very great number. The bride is the firstfruits of a very great number that will be in the kingdom, including the Jews and Gentiles who will enter the earthly aspect of the kingdom. The Hebrew word for “and let…possess” means to receive the inheritance in lieu of someone else. This clearly pictures the bride’s inheritance in the heavenly aspect of the kingdom in lieu of Israel receiving it. “Thy seed” means the fruit of the bride. “The gate” is the place of government or rulership. The ones who hate them are the current rulers of the earth, or the powers and principalities of the air. They are the emissaries of Satan who rule the earth from the atmosphere. Thus, Rebekah is the brethren of the remainder of the Church left on the earth, and the brethren of the 144,000 Jewish Firstfruits, and she will receive the rulership of the heavenly aspect of the kingdom that was originally intended for Israel. Israel forfeited her inheritance when she rejected the offer of Jesus Christ to receive the kingdom. The message of the kingdom was to repent and be baptized, and Israel as a nation rejected this commandment, and consequently, the offer of the kingdom. Satan and his emissaries have been ruling the earth for 6000 years, and they hate the prospect of the bride taking over their position.
(Gen 24:61 KJV) And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.
The Hebrew word for arose means to endure, to be proven, to be valid, to be established. Thus, Rebekah is tested or judged at this time and found to be valid. Interestingly, there is another group, “her damsels” that are tested and found to be true and faithful at this same time. This is in perfect harmony with Revelation where there are two groups in heaven around the throne of Jesus at the time of the separation. These two groups are the four living creatures and the 24 elders. The bride is a type of the four living creatures, and the damsels are a type of the 24 elders. The Hebrew word for rode also means to cause to plow. The word upon means on account of. In other words, the story of Rebekah watering the camels has resulted in the rest of the Church to start plowing. We know that plowing is a picture of our working for the Lord. Jesus Himself used it as a picture of our working for entrance into the kingdom. The Hebrew words for “and followed” mean to walk persecuted, and the word for “man” means worthy. Thus, the spiritual walk of the bride and her damsels is through persecution, but they are found worthy. This is in accord with the Philadelphia Church in Revelation. They are weak and have little power in the Church as a whole, but they are found worthy. The word for “took” means take up the word for “went his way” means to vanish.. This is a description of the separation that Jesus gave at the time of the separation. It is in the Olivet Discourse, and Jesus said the those that were watching would suddenly vanish even as they stood next to other believers.
(Gen 24:62 KJV) And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country.
This verse means that Isaac, a type of Jesus, came to marry in a parched and dry country by the way of the well of the living one. Simply stated, the bride comes to Jesus by the way of the well of living water, even though Jesus indwells her in a parched and dry (i.e., spiritually lacking) country. The country is the earth, and it is spiritually dry and parched. There is a well that the bride went to and that well is the Bible.
(Gen 24:63 KJV) And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
This verse states that in the end Jesus spoke to the cultivated field, which is the world of believers, and he took away or carried off those he perceived as having spiritual faculties. This is a picture of the midnight cry where the whole Church awakens to the shout that Jesus is coming, but he only takes away those who are spiritually mature. It also states that the camels were brought near to him. It appears that the camels in this verse are those who were left behind, but they became filled with the Holy Spirit, and were brought near to Jesus in a spiritual sense. The Hebrew word for and went out means "in the end". The Hebrew word for meditate means to commune with or to speak. The word for in the field means cultivated field. The word for at the means to turn toward or away. Christ will turn towards some and away from others at the time of the separation. The word for eventide also means night. The word for he lifted up means to take away or to carry off. The word for his eyes means spiritual faculties. The word for and saw means observed, seen, perceived, or regarded. A prophetic paraphrase of this verse would be, At the end of the day Jesus shouted to the Church and separated the faithful from the unfaithful, and carried the faithful away, and the remainder of the Church drew near to Him.
(Gen 24:64 KJV) And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.
This verse states that Rebekah’s mental and spiritual faculties were exalted or elevated and she was able to perceive or have a vision of Jesus. Consequently, she went away from, or was separated from the camel (i.e., the remainder of the Church on the earth), and she was exalted to a position above them. The eyes are frequently used for a person who has spiritual insight.
(Gen 24:65 KJV) For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a veil, and covered herself.
This verse states, For she said in her heart to the Holy Spirit, ‘Whose husband is this who spiritually walks among the Church. And the Holy Spirit said, it is your husband, the Lord. Therefore, she took her wedding garment and put it on.
(Gen 24:66 KJV) And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done.
This verse states, And the Holy Spirit related all the works that He had done.” In context with the preceding verse, the Holy Spirit is relaying all of the works that he had accomplished through the bride.
(Gen 24:67 KJV) And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.
This verse states, And Jesus brought his bride into the household that originally belonged to Israel. And she became his wife, and He was comforted even though Israel had failed to attain unto the heavenly aspect of the kingdom.
