Book of Remembrance

16Then they that feared the LORD spake
often one to another: and the LORD hearkened,
and heard it, and a book of remembrance was
written before him for them that feared the
LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17And
they shall be Mine, saith the LORD of hosts,
in that day when I make up my jewels; and I
will spare them, as a man spareth his own son
that serveth him. 18Then shall ye return, and
discern between the righteous and the wicked,
between him that serveth God and him that
serveth Him not. (Malachi 3:16-18 KJV)
Today, there are small groups of Christians that meet often to read, study and meditate upon the word of God. They enjoy the spiritual nourishment they receive from the presence of the Holy Spirit and from the fellowship of fellow believers. These believers meet in their homes and sometimes in small churches. In larger churches, they are sometimes allowed to meet in classrooms, but most of the members of these churches are either unaware of or do not place a very high value on joining in with these small groups of faithful believers. They are reading complete books of the Holy Bible and discuss the topics in each chapter in-depth. They may expand their study of Sunday School materials to include the unpopular topics that many of the authors simply ignore or incorrectly interpret. Some of these ignored topics include Watching for the return of Jesus Christ, the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Confession of Sins and admitting that they sometimes fail in their walk with God, the Commandment to live a righteous life for God, the Ten Commandments and the need to teach their children Godly living. The Bible is full of other topics that are almost never mentioned, either in the pulpit by the pastor or by the Sunday School teachers. However, these small groups of faithful believers are the only Christians that are studying and applying all chapters of all 66 books of the Bible.
Their informal conversation is different from the conversation of most Christians, because their talk is mainly about Jesus Christ. Yes, they will sometimes discuss a football game, or how their children did in school, or a new recipe, but because they are filled with the Holy Spirit, their conversation always comes back to talk about Jesus Christ and His goodness and what God is accomplishing in their lives. Their conversation will never include putting down a person or glorifying their selves. They will always be supportive to others and to help them with money, clothing, a kind word and a loving friendship.
Their thinking is also Christ-centered. They will often just sit down in a chair and open up The Word of God. They will start with the first chapter in a Book of the Bible and just prayerfully read until they finish the Book. This Bible reading will not just be done once a month, but will happen almost every day. This reading is allowing God to speak to them through the messages in His Holy Word and this reading is slowly transforming their lives--they are becoming faithful followers of God. Because of this reading of the Word, they are becoming more resistant to the evil that is so prevalent in the world today. This reading and applying the word of God to their lives is also leading to a fellowship with God because they are praying to God and telling Him each day how important He is to them. They are recognizing and thanking God for the many blessings that He is pouring out to them each day and are daily confessing their sins and shortcomings to God and are relying upon the Holy Spirit to help them in their walk with God.
There are not many of these believers, because the cares of the world are controlling the thinking and actions of most of the other Christians in this world. Many Christians are only focusing on their jobs and their drive to succeed in having a bigger house, a newer car, the best clothes, their children to succeed in athletics and academics and to shine and even dominate the leadership in their churches. This is the leading church in the last days--the Church of Laodicea (Rev 3:14-22).
These faithful believers are identified in the Book of Revelation (Rev 3:7-13) as the Church of Philadelphia. Because they are demonstrating their faith in and their love for God, He is very pleased with them. Hence, God has promised that He will remove them from the earth in the First Fruits Rapture, which will happen just before the start of the Tribulation. These faithful actions are being recorded in a scroll called a Book of Remembrance. When Jesus gives out His rewards, this book will be opened and the faithful Christian's life works will be reviewed and this Christian will be praised by Him before all the saints in Heaven. This book will be one of the main reasons that a faithful Christian's name will not be blotted out of the Book of Life. These faithful actions are the main reason for God recognizing that they have achieved Soul Salvation. They are counted as wise and faithful servants of Jesus.
